    I-scan ultra and 503 mxe

Has anybody got a I scan ultra and a 503 mxe, as I've just received my mxe and have noticed the price drop for the ultra.
If anybody is using or has tried these 2 items together?
My dvd is a 757ai. I also have a sky digi box
I have read some threads on this bet only one with the 503.

Several people have done so, or so I'm lead to believe. Just remember the iScan will work best with Component (YUV) input, you'll have to convert Sky's output to component.

    All the best,

    Dr John Sim.

I was just wondering if the results were any good, or if I may as well wait to see if the kd card is any good

As I mentioned in one of the other threads, the results on my 433 MXE were poor, so I am waiting for the kd.

    Regards,

    Paul

Cheers, It seems that this is the case, I I think I will wait as it seems not many people have have this set up. Lets hope the kd card turns out to be a good one.

What ins and outs were you feeding the ultra.
as Dr Jon says component produces best results.

    im awaiting mine.
and will feed it component in and component out to plasma.

    im hoping for sky improvements.
My DVD is already pal progresive component out & rocks.

I'm another who tried the ultra with a 433MXE. The results weren't poor, the iscan simply didn't change anything - for the better or worse. PQ was identical with and without the ultra, irrespective of input. The only feature which did have an influence was the chroma delay which tidied up the chroma problem on sky broadcasts.

My uneducated guess? - the deinterlacer on the 433 is as good as the ultra which therefore cannot improve the PQ. A more important issue for the 433 is scaling, which means lashing out on something like the KD card.
