It on was over Christmas and it got me thinking:

What happened to the 5 hour version?
It does exist coz my Sister-in-law has seen it in the cinema in Hong Kong.

I saw an interview with James Cameron saying that it could of been nearly 4 hours but not 5. Are you sure?

Not directly related I'm afraid, but there was an interesting post on www.thedvdfiles.com the other day about some well famous B&W film that I *really* ought to remember the name of but now can't...

ANYway, apparently there were two versions of this at, he guesses from memory, 89min and 134min's in length ... and it was the 89min version that had extra bits added to it!

Makes you think ... the author of this news piece then informed us all that apparently the 89min version was shown at 24fps and the 134min version was at an incorrect 18fps or similar.

Not at all related, but the memory of this interesting post popped into my head on reading this thread.

    4 or 5 hours....not sure.

All I know is that it was bloody long!

Would be nice to have Titanic DVD with ****load of extras and several versions like the Ultimate T2 disc.

Another Urban Myth rises from the shadows...

NO 5 hour print of Titanic is or was distributed. Period.

Empire did a thing on this years ago and they said that there is a myth about a 12 hour version of Apocalypse Now which supposedly exists somewhere.

WOW - a 12hr Apocalypse Now! That might explain why Martin Sheen's heart was prone to seizure.
