I am setting up my kenwood 5050 amp and cyberhome 528 dvd.I have them connected via phonos into the 5.1 connections.Would using a coax cable make any difference to the qaulity of sound from the system.Any thoughts anyone?

It should do as the decoder in the amp is probably better than the decoder in the DVD player.

I'm with Ian on this one, why use 5 cables when you can use one optical or coaxial cable?
Very rarely are dvd decoders better than amp decoders. You might as well bought a pro logic amp with 5.1 inputs which would have been cheaper than the 5050
