My amp only has one 5.1 external input and the 2-channel input is not "pure", and as such, i have to use the 5.1 input for both DVD-A and for my MF DAC.

This means unplugging and plugging cables when using each source, is there a 5.1 switch box, or even a 2 channel one?

I've looked on the web, and they exist, but at about £300!!

I'm in the same situation having just ordered a dedicated SACD player to go with my DVD-A.
It seems to me that the Zektor MAS3 is the only option. Digitalconnection.com will ship to the UK for around $50 plus the price of the unit $399..........................unless someone out there knows differently :)

Unfortunately yes, I suppose that you could say its a bit of an oversight but it does everything else so well I'm nit picking.

In all honesty I never saw myself going down the SACD route, I was one of the first to upgrade the DV27 to DVD-A, but I've become really disillusioned with the quality of DVD-A releases out there. Almost without exception I would say that imo SACD have a better recording quality. Thats no reflection on the abilities of the DV27A/AV8 as when a recording is well done it superb, titles like Linkin Park & Missy Elliott are fantastic, but then you get ones like Naxos The Planets and they are inferior to the vanilla CD  :offtopic:

I came from SACD to DVD-A, as i thought SACD was pretty un-inspiring, certainly no better than my MF DAC.
