Ok its a long shot but here goes. Is it possible to take a 5.1 (or simply a two way) output from my dvd player into my two way Amp then split it back to 5.1 post amp? My amp is pretty old and only has a video audio input for stereo sound, a sub woofer output, an optical output and of course two speaker outputs. My DVD player has a hdmi and digital coaxial out.

    Any advice much appreciated.

    Cheers, James.

Get a digital coax to optical convertor mate. I think Maplins do them...

EDIT: Sorry, just seen the optical is an output, not an input!
