As title, was looking in a local shop today at some AV goodness as im looking to invest soon, now i was looking at this Pioneer amp/5.1 speaker bundle, but was thinking if im only watching normal tv shows then id probably want to have 5 surround speakers working but not the sub, would i be able to turn it off? im not sure if the subs normally have a separate on/off switch or not. Im thinking it wont but im just asking(forgot to check when i was there)

The five speakers aren't going to have much to do for TV programmes, and the bass unit probably less, so if you don't want to use it don't connect it, or if you connect it power it off.

OK - mine has a power switch on the back, but you can always use the mains switch or pull the plug.
