Just got Sky + installed yesterday and very pleased with it, so far....can anyone point me in the direction of a list / programme guide, either on the web or via the programme guide which lists the movies that are going to be broadcast in 5.1 ?

    Cheers.

It tells you in the Sky Guide.

The "info" function in the EPG should tell you. In the top right hand corner "DS" means "Dolby Surround", "DD" means "Dolby Digital 5.1".

Haven't Sky sorted out the 5.1 problem with the new software update which was supposed to fix Dual Record and a whole load of minor OS issues?

When it does work is the sounds as good as you'd get from a DVD?

I would have thought that the volume in ther Sky menu would only affect the Sky+ box's analogue outputs. I don't think it would modify the digital output stream. Especially not for DD - it would have to decode the original Dolby Digital stream, increase the values, and then re-encode the stream before outputting it, all in real time. That's far from easy.

OK, fair enuff, but the volume in the sky menu does adjust the output going to the amp.

Also, I don't notice a volume level difference on mine.

    Just trying to be helpful!!
