    Hi,

    I'm used to listen to B&W 603S3 + 601S3 + CC6? + ASW500 sub with Onkyo 575 in a 23x18 (40m2) room in my father's house.
    I bought a house so I want to buy a new receiver (probably a Denon 3805 or 2805) + 5.1 speaker system, 85% for movies in a room with 19x18 (33m2) room.
I've listen a few speaker systems and I need your "pro-advice" so I can really make up my mind (and confirm my thoughts, I hope...)

    5.1 AV-Speaker List:
    - Acoustic Energy Aegis Evo series (E3 + E1 + Centre + Sub)
    - Monitor Audio Bronze series (B4 + BFX or B2 + Centre + ASW100)
    - Monitor Audio Silver series (S6 + S2 + SLCR + FB110?)
    - Kef Q series (Q7 or Q5 + Q1 or Q2DS + Q9C + PSW2500)
    - B&W 600 S3 series (603 + 601 or DS6 + LRC60 + ASW600/650/675)
    - Canton Karat S series (S8 + S1 + CS4 + AS200 or AS300)
    - Canton Karat M series (M90 + M20 + CM50 + AS200 or AS300)

1- Can you place them in order of best buy for money and give me 2 lines why please.
From what I've read and listen, maybe the Acoustic Energy AegisEvo 3B. What's your thoughs?
2- Can you place them now just for best sound and give me 2 lines why please.
For me the Cantons Karat M series look and sound very good.
3- Would you use the same brand sub or you go for a specialist like REL or MJ? Wich ones?
    4- Any other sugestions?

BIG THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR HELP

    Mornin'

I would go with the M series with a Velodyne Spl mkII or DD depending on the size of the room. If the M series is a little too big for your room then go for the S series, I've heard all the Karat series inluding the Reference versions and the L series and they are awsome for the money. For instance, the S8 floorstanders running on our 3805 sounded lovely, far superior to the AE Evo3's, and more involving than the monitor Audio's but bear in mind that the Cantons have metal tweeters, although, noted in reviews that they are the most relaxed metal tweeters heard, they are more involving being slightly brighter than soft dome tweeters so you won't like them if you like mellow sounding speakers, but then mellow sounding speakers are pants at doing home cinema due to the nature of it i.e. dynamic, punchy and involving. Which the Cantons are very good at but they are one of very few manufacturers that get their speakers to sound great with movies and music as most good AV speakers are too bright and the midrange is too much for listening to music i.e. female vocals are harsh and in your face. The Kefs are like the Cantons but are even brighter and need a sub when listening to music through the floorstanders in stereo as they are bass light where the Karats, with the 8" or 10" sub on the side of the enclosure does the business.

I hope this helps, come back to me if you need any more info.

    Regards
