I've currently got a 2.1 system that I want to upgrade to 5.1 however I don't want a receiver or gigantic sub for space reasoons/constraints and neighbourly friendliness!

Ideally I would just buy a Logitech Z5500 but they are no longer sold and the Z906 are expensive and apparently not as good as the predecessor.

Does anyone know about other types of these systems from other manufacturers? Im looking for decent sound quality levels with a modest footprint.

Check out the Canton Movie sets - this is about the cheapest

Canton Movie 85 - Performance 5.1 Home Cinema Speaker Package - Gloss Black 4010243027487 | eBay

There is also the Canton Movie 130 but that is pushing £300 so may be out of your price bracket.

Canton Movie 130 - Performance 5.1 Home Cinema Speaker Package - Gloss Black | eBay

The Canton 90 appears to just offer a more powerful sub over the 85.

They will be superior to anything logitech do.

Alternatively see if you can pick up a second hand kef egg set - there are plenty about - very nice sound and quality but will be at the £300 mark - but leagues ahead of the logitech stuff.

    Cheers,

    Nigel

Seems there are 2 flavours, HD and HDX with the latter being the one to go for.

    Just scouring ebay now.
