5.1.2 v 5.1.4

In a squared 15 feet room would 5.1.4 with ceiling speakers be an overkill being such a small room. I sit right up to the rear wall and face the tv screen which is right up to the front wall.

To use 5.1.4, you need ceiling speaker just ahead of you and just behind you. Can you do that? From your description is seems not.

So, your circumstances, more or less answer your question for you.

You can use Front height, if ceiling high enough and Top middle to give yourself 5.1.4.
This is how I run mine. Sounds awesome.
