I have an iPhone 4s, bought on here and randomly but frequently I get zero phone bars and "no service" then it will come back to say three bars and then it will repeat this a few minutes later.
This interrupts phone and texts, but wifi is ok.
I have swapped my sim with my daughter (also 4s) and it seems to be that my phone that is the common denominator.
Any ideas what the problem could be ?

    Thanks

I would try completely restoring the phone back to default and latest IOS. If it's still problem you will need to send the phone into someone for repair. It could be many things but is usually either the aerial connector not being plugged in correctly or its more likely what they refer to as the blue signal coil.

It's easy to remove the back and check if the aerial is plugged in correctly. But as for replacing the signal coil, it takes someone skilled at soldering. The coil is cheap to buy if your comfortable at doing it yourself.

I had this problem with my phone, you could try taking out the simcard and wiping it down with a clean cloth and re inserting it into the phone and see if that helps, it worked for me.
