I have a Samsung UE55KU6000K and recently came upon the information that Blue Planet 2 was in UHD 4K so I thought i might have a look to see what it was like.
Blue Planet II comes to iPlayer in 4K HDR
According to this page i would have the opportunity to select to watch in UHD except I don't get the choice and neither is my TV listed in the supported devices.

Am I missing something here. Is the TV not what it claims do i need to change a setting somewhere?

Samsung are not enabling 4k iPlayer support for any models of TV prior to 2017 however this may change in the future but the likelihood is incredibly slim.

Ah, I see. So it is a Samsung thing. Thanks.

...and neither is my TV listed in the supported devices...

I don't know who certifies devices but as mentioned only certain 2017 models are currently supported. You should be able to see the short trial if you opt-in to the beta player.

Another option although not a good one would be to purchase a 4k media player like an amazon fire tv, Apple TV 4k to play back in 4k for iPlayer. (if supported)
