Question 4K TV Optimal Viewing Distance With Non 4K Source

Good morning,

I have a new OLED 4K 65" TV ( ) and have a question about optimal viewing distance. Is the viewing distance based on the resolution / type of display or the content you are sending to it? So taking these numbers as the baseline,

5.4-8.1 feet away for 4K
8.1-13.5
feet away for 1080p

My first instinct is to place my seating within the listed range for 4K, and that should be good for watching a UHD 4K movie. But what about when I am watching non-4K content (like any of my older standard blu-ray movies) would I suddenly find myself to close to the screen?

Thanks for your time.
