4k splitter with old 1080p TV?

Standard Member
Hi there,

I have the Cablesson HDelity 1x4 HDMI 2.0 Splitter with EDID (18G) but I am struggling to get it working with a particular TV - the LG 50PK590-ZE

The TV is from 2010 and is 1080p, presumably HDMI 1.4 given its year. Is there a way to get it working with the above splitter? I currently plug it in and get audio only.

The other TV connected to the splitter is a relatively new 4k model. Trying to split my virgin signal and have done it before with other TVs, just not this one.

Thanks, Paul

You can't simply 'split' the 2160p HDCP 2.2 signal to a 4K UHD plus HD Display.

You could either:

1. Add a 2160p/HDCP2.2 to 1080p/HDCP1.4 down converter to one Output of the 1x2 Distribution Amp (Splitter).
2. Replace the 1x2 Splitter with a device which has onboard down conversion.
3. Replace the 1080p Display.
4. Always limit your content to 1080p/HDCP1.4 when wanting a signal on the HD Display.
