I currently have a series X for my 4k and I .currently buying up my favourite films in 4k

Think I should probably spring for a stand-alone player but don't want to go overboard with the cost
Don't mind 2nd hand players just not sure best bang for buck

Currently have a 2 year old Phillips ambilght 65" but will be upgrading this for a.100hz version this year hopefully.

Not a huge movie fan but would like to watch my favourite discs in the best quality

I've read up on the Sony 700/800 and a Panasonic unit

Oh and I'm UK based if that makes a difference

Thank you

I would go for a Panasonic unit. New would be better as at least you're covered by a warranty. Sony have a reputation of freezing with some 4K discs.

The 450 is around £200 mark. The actual availability of players if pretty limited now to Sony and Panasonic, LG are still there but best avoided. There are cheaper options with Panasonic but the 450 does have a good reputation.

I don't own a Panny so no axe to grind.

I have a 450 and other than appearing a bit flimsy compared to my 9000 and the remote being a bit on the cheap side it performs just as well as it’s bigger brother.
