Has anyone managed to get a 2560x1600 resolution from a pc via a 4k compatible receiver working on a monitor such as the Dell u3014 using hdmi?

I have this monitor and have got this resolution working via hdmi fine - but I'm currently using dl-dvi via the pc and hdmi via the ps3 and it's a pain switching inputs using the monitor's osd.

I was thinking specifically of getting one of the new Yamaha receivers either the rx-v775 or the rx-a730 (if it ever comes in stock in the UK!).

I emailed Yamaha who responded in short that no it doesn't support 1600p because that is a pc resolution not a standard home use one!

Here are the supported formats:

The unit is compatible with the video signals of the following resolutions:
• VGA • 720p/60 Hz, 50 Hz
• 480i/60 Hz • 1080i/60 Hz, 50 Hz
• 576i/50 Hz • 1080p/60 Hz, 50 Hz, 30 Hz, 25 Hz, 24 Hz
• 480p/60 Hz • 4K/30 Hz, 25 Hz, 24 Hz
• 576p/50 Hz

Annoying!

Now looking for a hdmi switcher that supports 1600p and doesn't cost the Earth!

AV receivers, even though they work with PCs, aren't designed around them. How many VGA inputs does the typical AVR actually have?
