Hi guys,

I'm looking for a decent 4k media player with SSD storage - up to 1TB if possible. Not bothered about 3D, but need superior sound/visual decoding to go with my Denon AV and Wharfedale speakers!

I'm currently using a Zappiti 4k One, but there's no SSD, and the HDD is noisy.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Can you use a 3.5" to ssd adapter?

or, Intel nuc, but that might be expensive

You should be able to install an SSD drive in the Zappiti; you certainly can on the Zidoo X10.

@DELUCAS - did you use a converter on yours?

Hi adam - burnley yes i did on the Zidoo X10 and working a treat upgrading to 2tb ssd later on or if prices drop even more so .

So can confirm all working post / read on the Zidoo threads for more inf o.p.

Hi guys, thanks for the info so far. Please excuse my ignorance here, but how exactly do you fit the SSD? Does it have to be plugged in externally, or is there a way to insert it into the machine itself?

As an alternative you could get 1tb of USB portable storage for around 40 quid and they are silent. I used to plug them into the back of my Zappiti and theoretically you can add as many as you want via hubs. Very small footprint too and for media playback duties the performance is the same as ssd.
