I'm thinking of changing my system and will be housing my amp and other gadgets in a different room to my TV. The distance maybe upto to 20m (as the cable will need to be run againsts some walls). Whats the most future-proof way to do this?
A suitable conduit with no right angle turns plus a length of draw wire is the 'future proofing' you require - for now a RuiPro Hybrid Fibre HDMI cable installed within the conduit will deliver everything current tech requires.
The larger the radius on any bends the better. Using 32mm conduit I still needed to keep my bend radii around 50cm even on 30 - 40 degree bends. I was using 10m of flexible conduit. Also do not pull the RuiPro on it’s own, attach it to STRONG pulling wire at several points and draw the pulling wire, for a 20m pull you will need a 45m+ draw wire. Use lots of lubrication and take your time.
