Gonna be buying a new mesh computer .The memory option is 4gb either 4x1 or 2x2. The motherboard can take 8gb so I was thinking of paying the extra £20 and having 2x2. ANy reason why not too.

    go for it! :)

although why not build it yourself? its not too hard, very satisfying, and you can use the best components for your money!

Are you going for vista 64 or 32? If you are getting 32-bit vista the max memory is 4 gig including windows swap file and your graphics card memory. I have 4gig but can only see 3g due to graphics card have 640mb and the swap file.

2x2 should be better for overclocking as Overclockers sell a rather overclocked system and mention that:-

"Note - If you select the 4GB Memory Upgrade option then the CPU overclock is reduced to 3.1GHz - 3.2GHz region to maintain stability with all four memory banks filled."

I admit my Core 2 Duo 6700 2.66Ghz is running sweet at 3.24Ghz with my 4x1gigs inside it on air cooling.

I'd go 2x2, it allows easier upgrading in the future. But if you've got 32bit windows it won't be able to use it so it's pointless even getting 4GB at all.

Go 2x2 leaves the door open for adding another 2x2 if you do go to 64bit OS in the future. I built muy own machine and this is the way i went.

    just my 2p
