Are you interested, would you go and be willing to pay more, or should they stay in the Theme Parks

Just stay clear of 4D porn :D

Plans are in the works to build 200 special theaters in major cities in the US, slated to open over the next five years. 4D films will add more sensory stimulation through smells and kinetic motion, according to the LA Times report referenced by Mashable.

At the cost of 2 million dollar per theater, building costs will be absorbed with an added eight bucks to movie tickets.

LOL @Porn movies, now there's a thought

I've avoided the D-Boxes at the Cineworld cinemas because I just think it would be too much a distraction. I have no objection in their presence at cinemas though because they only occupy a few rows, you have a choice whether you want a D Box seat or not. I may try out a D Box one day for a B movie type film or cartoon, there's potential fun there but not for proper heavy narrative driven movies such as Dark Knight for instance. Btw I know D-Box is not quite 4D (ie no other sensory gimicks such as water, air puffs etc).

I am a big lover of hydraulic and 4D theme park attractions though, so much so I have been to Orlando 4 times to experience the best of them again and newer rides. The best 4D experience I have ever had was the Amazing Spiderman adventure. I would say leave it for that.

3D is annoying enough in mainstream cinemas, mainly because of a lack of effort put into most 3D conversions, let alone 4D. Leave the 4D gimmicks to the theme parks.

they should let 3d conversions die. if a movie isnt shot in 3d, leave it.

i wouldnt mind trying 4d but the cinema is a ripoff anyway. i would much prefer watching a movie at home. i just wish i had a 3d projector or something.

I saw a 10 minute 4d showing of an Apollo mission at the science museum and it was very good.

I think it works for presentations like that, but not for a full length feature film.

Tbh, I really don't fancy the idea of watching The Titanic in 4D...

They'll be introducing "Feel-Around" for real next, ala 'Kentucky Fried Movie'!

Just curious, any 4D showings ye guys went to ever had the sense of smell? I went to 4Ds before and I don't remember any of them had smell (besides bad odour) as a sense.

The one I went to had moving seats, bubbles and water!
