Hello everyone
For the last 10 years, I have been using a 32 inch Sony KDL-32EX403 tv (1080p) in my bedroom. Usage consists mostly of Netflix and some Bluray / DVD viewing.
Over the last three years, it has become harder for my eyes to read small text (e.g. tv guide), without sitting closer or wearing my glasses.
According to the various guides, considering that I sit 100 inches (8.3 feet) away from the tv, apparently I need a tv that is approx 50 inches in size.
This is a photo of how things look currently.
I am slightly concerned that a 50 inch tv may be too big for me in this setting... but nonetheless, have narrowed things down to three options:
1) Samsung QE49Q80T £799
2) Sony KD49XH8505 £699
3) Sony KD49XH9505 £849
My budget is £700 - so option 2 is affordable.
Option 1 is stretching the budget, but still affordable.
Option 3 I would consider if it is really that much better than the other two options.
I would be grateful for your thoughts.
Also, looking at the photo, would you say that a 49 inch tv is too big?
