Guys thank you so much for the replies, just to throw a spanner in the works Ive just been looking online and the 46W3000 is easily in range, I honestly thought it was around 2k. Is the W series worth the extra 150-200 Pounds?

Also to get these prices means dealing via the internet where as usually I go via the Sony Centre or my local John Lewis (which puts the W3000 back near 2K), are there any online vendors to avoid and on the flip side any that come with great recommendation?

Sorry I thought I knew what I wanted but 1300 for the W is an acceptable amount of money to pay

I think Im on my own here but I really dislike the styling (although Ive yet to actually see one) of any of the 4000 series sets, although I might be better off waiting a while to see if the 3000 prices fall as a result of the newer sets coming out. Although it depends on what coming soon means, Im aware no matter what I buy something better is coming soon.

I don't know if the deal is the same all over Europe, but here in Holland, Sony is offering a € 200 refund or a free 20B4000 lcd tv with any TV in the following ranges: V3000, W3000, V4000, W4000, E4000, X3000, X3500. (Nice order by the way, makes it seem like Sony considers V4000 is superior to W3000 :)).

So although the 46D3500 is cheaper normally, this might tip the scale towards the V3000 after all. I know that here it even makes the 40" D3500 tv's a bit more expensive than the V3000's.

the W3000 will drop further in price when the 46W4000 is released, they are not far off now as the 40" is out on Thurs :thumbsup:so a couple of weeks max.You may see the 46"W3000 prob not far off 1100 quid:smashin:

Many have said the same but seems like the design is much better when you view it live

If I see the 46W3000 for £1100 Id call that a sale CHA CHING

I will sit it out and wait for the price drop if any, as retailers clear out their remaining W3000's. I would only assume the 4000 would be an improvement over the 3000 but that small section of floating glass design is just going to distract the hell out of me, even the power lights on things bug me. The chance of light coming from behind my TV and pulling my eye away from the screen is not my idea of fun.

yeah the thing is that the W3000 stock is currently pretty low, prices are not likely to drop,as the W3000 starts to dissapear
