Went to Currys today in the hope of buying the Samsung 7470 TV, however, when comparing the colour of the images on the Samsung to the Sony, the Samsung looked washed out and the oranges looked yellow.

Can anyone help with recommendation as I can’t imagine the Samsung being that much worse.

Can you fit 49/50 or more preferably 55"?

    Size really matters with UHD.

Do you need wide viewing angles?

Unfortunalty 43” is the maximum I could fit in my room.

In terms of viewing angles I’ll be pretty much sitting straight ahead.

    Thanks

I believe both the TVs you mentioned are IPS and this isn't recommendable.

    Consider instead the Philips 43PUS6703.

Below a review of the 50" edition of this TV. :)

Would you recommend the Philips 43PUS7303 above the Samsung and the Somy?

It's hard to know what panels are used at different sizes on all models.

The Sony will be IPS for sure.
The Samsung seems to be VA from users who have purchased the TV recently in the UK but they do have IPS panels too so there may be versions out there using IPS. A user in Europe had the Samsung with an IPS panel.
The Phillips I'm not sure about, could be either. Usually IPS.

43" is a popular size for IPS panels but Samsung do make 43" VA panels.

TV's at this size aren't usually the best quality anymore and they are too small to benefit from UHD without you're eyes glued to the screen so there is little reason really to buy one if you already have a working TV.
