    hi all

I have just received my new panny 42px60, with this being my first plasma screen i am a little concerned about the length of time it actually takes to turn on from pressing the remote.

from pressing the button on the remote, the red light flashes for about 5-6 seconds this then goes off and with the screen still blank it can take upto another 10 secs for the screen to come on.

this is first thing on a morning or night after its been switched off for a few hours. If the screen has been on for a while it still takes about 5 secs of the flashing red light but the screen comes on straight after this.

any ideas? is this normal or something to worry about

    cheers

    paul

Its the same on my 37PX600 - totally normal I beleive.

I did read somewhere that the number of flashes indicates some some sort of diagnostic - and if there is a fault the number of flashes will tell you what it might be when you try and turn the plasma on.

Perhaps someone may be able to comment on what these values might be?
