42PD7200 + Component + Sky

OK qiuck Q.

I am looping my sky+ through my sony hx510 dvdr which is outputting progressivley to my 7200 via component.

Am I therefore watching sky via component? and progrssivley?

Any ideas?

Not really, IMO.
The 7200 is, in effect an interlaced screen.
People report very little, if any, difference between progressive and interlaced on Hitachis.
Not that it's a problem, mind.
If you connected Sky to your DVD via Scart RGB, that is what you're seeing, albeit up-converted.
