As promised JL delivered my new plasma yesterday how excited was i..
Opened the box lifted the screen on to its new shelf and stood with mouth wide open. It looks the bizz. happy to just look at it for ever and never get it working ever ever. Back to work.

After getting home from work decided that it would be silly and a waste never to get it working so set about puting the baby to work.

Elvis said it would be easy to install. thanks mate it was. Put my pioneer dvd s/sound on, fixed the sky box on 1 hour later and iam smiling from ear to ear .I LOVE IT. The wife loves it everyone loves it.
so now i want to look at the settings can anyone post what they have done so i can see how good it can really be. i want to play now.

glad to hear your enjoying your new plasma :smashin:

First thing i would do is to turn down the contrast. I remember when mine came it was up quite high and can cause burn in. Heres my settings although you might want to get a setup dvd like avia or video essentials to configure it to your own needs :)

    contrast 33%
brightness 2 notches up from centre
    colour 50%
    sharpness 33%
    contrast mode normal
    cti low
    lti off
    ynr high
    cnr off
    black stretch off
    film mode off

Well these are my setting and have been quite happy with them for some months now after tweaking about a bit.

    Cheers

Interesting why have you turned the film mode off?

I thought that was designed to show movies at their best.
    at the mo I using

    contrast 40%
brightness 5 notches up from centre
    colour + 4
    sharpness +2
    contrast mode normal
    cti low
    lti low
    ynr low
    cnr low
    black stretch on (I think)
    film mode on

    hi

MR2harvey film mode is off by default and not noticing any difference what so ever I just left it that way. Black stretch is deffinately worth turning off IMO as it artificially adjust's the brighness up and down acording to the scene being viewed. In dark scenes you can see the background being black then becoming blacker before becoming lighter again. Not entirely how the film or programme was meant to be shown and extremely annoying.

    Cheers

JL are delivering mine on friday!
    Can't wait!

Has anyone else noticed that you have to wear smartish clothes when you go into JL to look at tv's? If you don't then you only get one word awnsers from the sales assistants before they walk off! The next time I went in I got the girlfriend to dress up smart (I couldn't be bothered!) and we had a sales assistant with us for about half an hour even though they were really busy!
