I've done some searching on here, but can't find much (or not asking the right question)

no vga under the flap, it's on the back on this model (sorry HD!!)

Supports 1:1 mapping using 1024x768 if the laptop can output that res. Pic should be pin sharp.

Don't use the HDMI input !!

Laptop says the highest res is 1280x800 so i take is that will do? any particular vga cable in terms of quality recommended?

the panny manual tells you what is accepted you can choose what you want but be prepared for oddities.

According to the manual, screen accepts, 640x400 @60,70,75Hz, 800x600 @60,70,75Hz, 1024x768 @60,70,75,85Hz and [email protected]

Anything else as HD says may give surpises. If your laptop can be set to 1024x768 then your laughing, it will give the best results.

I should have asked this at the time but does VGA contain audio or do you have to input sound into either phono's on the Pani or via my surround sound amp? Any recommended places to buy the VGA cable from, will need to be 5m.
