Definitely NOT the Samsung (I used to own one - pants).

Surprised you haven't got the Panny TH42 PE30 on your list, or even better the TH42 PW7 (or PW6) - I've got the 37" PW7 and it's outstanding, but more importantly it's cheap as chips compared to most other screens of a similar quality.

Lots of threads to read on most of those models...

    it has to be 42".
I have read alot about the Panasonic, but I dont want to have an external TV-tuner, and then the Panasonic will go above my budget.

The TH42 is 42", I was just quoting my 37" as an example (the TH37).

The TH42PE30 (aka the Viera) which I was referring to has a built-in tuner.

Do you use Sky or cable? If so you don't need a tuner anyway and the PW6 or PW7 would suit fine, providing you're not fussed about built-in speakers.

    What's your budget?

My budget is 20.000 Danish kroner -about 2700Euros.
The Panasonic TH42 PE30 is a bit out my budget -it cost 3200Euros.

Are the other TV I have linked to no good?

I had the same budget. I looked for the same plasmas as you did.

Finally I bought the LG px11 and I am very happy with it.

Whats the difference on the LG px11 and px21.
the px11 is much cheaper than the px21.
    Px11 is 2100Euros
    Px21 is 2700Euros

    What about the Phillips 42PF9946?
Is Phillips a good plasma brand vs. other brands?

It kind of depends what you are looking at in the Philips line, as it varies to what screen technologies they use.

All the lower end models miss out on the processing technologies that make Philips 'interesting', and the higher models tend to be very expensive for what you get.

So a low end model like the 42PF9946 would not be better than ex. Huyndai og LG?

IMHO, maybe better than the Hyundai (not really sure what goes into that).

The LG though has at least as good glass - it may even be the same glass. And (IMHO) the electronics are better - Faroudja/Genesis/Pixelworks - which does similar stuff to the Pixel Plus, which isn't part of the low end Philips.

I guess you are refering to the px12 instead of px21.

The px12 has a screen resolution of 1024x768
The px11 has a screen resolution of 852x480

I am very happy with my px12

The 9946 is a dog. A friend has one and it suffers. Only has 2 scart and vga connection, no component or hdmi etc - stay away no matter what price.

You are also looking at the wrong Hyundai Part.
If you want low cost then search for HQP421SR, or if you want to spend a little more and get a higer resolution then search for HQP421HR.

Nothing bad to say against either of them, reviews on the HR will be available soon.

Hi, I have the Phillps and find the picture quality very good, way better than LG and Samsung and IMHO not far away from the Panasonic, for 1500 euros less you cannot complain.

Hi, I think with the prices you are being quoted, a weekend break to London is what you need! Go to Tottenham court road, view and buy a screen, get it shipped home. You'll save pushing up to e1000 I reckon.
