Hi,
Can someone confirm is 42" is not going to be too big from 7 feet away?

I watch mainly SKy HD (so 1080i), XBMC (720p rips).

Is 42 too big or OK?

Would smaller be better?

I've read all of the viewing calculators and they all tell me different.

Thanks.

Personally that would be too small for me with your viewing a 50/51" would be ideal imo.
I sit 7.5 away from a 59" and think it is spot on:thumbsup:

It's totally personal preference. We sit 12 or 13' from a 50" screen. Personally I wouldn't like to sit 6ft and closer to any TV but plenty of people like to sit that close to bigger than 42" screens!

I sit about 8ft from a 46" (LCD) and it's perfect, wouldn't want any bigger. You'll be fine with 42" I reckon :)

As above, down to your preference... but 8ft from a 59"

I only watch bluray/3d and HD tv if its good enough for THX:D

Best thing to do is go and view tvs instore at 7ft and see what you think,I always say if you think it is big enough get the next size up:laugh:

Ideal I would say - you can always go bigger in a couple of months once your TV starts mysteriously shrinking like all my screens have.;)

guaranteed if you buy 42 inch in 3 weeks you will wish you had bought the 50
even at 7 feet
