    Hi all,
Just got my new HD 42" panny home and the desk stand (TY-ST05K I think but it doesn't say so on the box). Anyway, there's no instructions for assembling the stand in the box, should there be as I'm looking at the bits and wondering how the hell it goes together! Can anyone help please....

    Cheers,
    Andy.

I'm confused now, looking at a picture of the TY-ST05K panny desk stand it looks nothing like the stand I've got. Has anyone else got one of the desk stands that you get with the panny plasma offers from av-sales, how does the plasma fix to it cos isn't it supposed to sit on two rods at either side (no rods in my stand box).

    Cheers,
    Andy.

This is the TY-ST05K http://www.screen-warehouse.co.uk/product.asp?pr=TYST05K&pm=1178 , mine doesn't look anything like that (you can see the bottom of the one I've got in the pictures of the panny plasmas on the av-sales website, it's not square cut like the TY-ST05K is) but isn't it supposed to be that one that's supplied with the av-sales plasmas? Anyway, I don't have a clue what mine is or how it goes together so if anyone can enlighten me I'd appreciate it!

    Cheers,
    Andy.

Anyone, I can't for the life of me work out how to put the stand together that I've got (4 main parts and a lot of screws/spacers!). No rods which I thought the plasma had to sit on which I find strange. Anyway, if I can't get it put together then I can't use the plasma, that means no footy tomorrow night!!!!!!!!!!!

    Cheers,
    Andy.

The mystery deepens.. if you got to the HD panny 42" on the av-sales website it says 'Panasonic TH-42PHD6 Plasma with non standard desk stand' however if you go to the same display from the special offers forum on here it doesn't say that and suggests you get the TY-ST05K included. Beginning to think I haven't got the TY-ST05K but the non standard one instead. So, does anyone else have the non standard one and can tell me how to put it together please?

    Cheers,
    Andy.

    Hi Andy,

Is this the same as the stand you have ?

If so you should have two poles and 2 sets of 4 screws in the box.

Claus, nope.. hope you can see the photo I've attached. It's in bits and that's the way it's going to stay without any instructions as to how to put it together!

    Cheers,
    Andy.

    Andy,

Looks like two of the poles should be screwed horisontally on the base, and the third should be vertical between them(stablilize it) and that you should mount the plasma on the two poles like a wall mount. Is the base heavy enough?

Ah...I see how it work :D

You have to attach it in the same way you would a wall mount using the four large mounting screws on the back of the plasma.

It looks like you have to attach the two uprights to the base and the attach the other piece to the two uprights as a brace to make a 'H' shape.

You then use the four plastic spacers you have to attach the mount to the plasma probably by removing the four screws allready there and replacing them with larger ones you have.

    Hope that helps...and makes sense.

    Cheers, Lee

I got the same one last week but in silver from av sales. From the pic looks like you have all you need. I do not have a scanner though so cannot mail you the instructions.

I can try and talk you through it if you want

Going to be up for a while :D

    loonatic,

I see you have the 50PH6. I just bought the 50PV30 and noticed, when playing dvd, that there are small green dots swirling on the screen. You can only see them when you're upclose. Do you have them?

    Thanks

Yeah, the panny one is definitely better (I've had one on a previous plasma). I'm going to insist on getting the panny one anyway as that's what's advertised in the avforums special offer for the HD panny. Bit of a dilemma now, I need it sorting or I can't watch the footy tomorrow night! Anyone mind talking me through it in the morning, can't be bothered now, drove 500 odd miles today to pick the plasma etc up and I'm knackered!
Thanks for all your help so far folks!

    Cheers,
    Andy.

    Hi Claus,

Yeah just been looking at you lovelly new plasma...very nice looking :smashin:

With regards to green dots I have seen them only in very dark or black areas of an image. The interesting thing is if you alter the contrast setting they appear and disappear at different settings

As I have mine set now I do not see them at all.

It's not a problem...it's just the screen ditthering and from a sensible viewing distance you don't see it.

    Cheers, Lee

Russell, I don't see what the problem will be. The av forums offer is clearly advertised as including the TY-ST05K i.e. Panasonic stand. That's the offer I took up (I thought) so that's the stand I should get. Did you get one through the special offers forum as if so you should have got the TY-ST05K too, follow the link, you can chose from The pedestal mount TY-ST05K or a slimline tilting wall mount as standard.

    Cheers,
    Andy.

    zAndy1, take a look here
    http://www.panasonic.co.uk/customer-Support/download-catalogue.asp
select "business plasma" and download the pdf, on the last page is a diagram of the TY-ST05K, it looks a similar shape to yours although it seems like the plasma is supported by two metal rods? (different to yours?)

I just ordered a TH-42PWD6 with a TY-ST05K from AV-sales, so I wonder which version will show up?

    cheers, spook

Mine definitely wasn't a panasonic one, it's a universal desk stand.

zAndy1, yes you're right, it is their universal stand, hmm, to me it looks a bit flimsy compared to the genuine panny stand?,
looks like I could be requesting a replacement if they send me the same universal,
they are advertising it with the panny code as the description, so that's what we should receive?
    should find out tomorrow.

Yeah it is flimsy compared to the panny stand, no doubt about it. To be honest though I like the look of it, it's more living room friendly than the more industrial looking panasonic one. Might just keep it now to be honest.

    Cheers
    Andy
