    Can anyone help?

I bought a lovely Hitachi 42 Inch Plasma TV and it works a treat. However it would look so much nicer on the wall!

I thought I was safe mounting it on my walls between myself and my Neighbour as it mush be a firewall. However, it looks like there is a plasterboard covering wall.
The plasterboard does look quite thick though (about 50mm)
Therefore, I ask you, my fellow TV lovers........

How can I mount this on the wall safely? There must be some way to do it?

Any help on this subject would be greatly appreciated!

    Andy

I mounted my 42" originally on a stud partition wall. Do you have wooden studs? If you do, then cut some thick MDF or such like, and coach bolt into the studs. If not, use fixings as long as you can, pinning the wood to the wall, then attach the wall mount to the wood. If you can hang from the mount, then if will be ok.

DO NOT fix plasma TV's to plasterboard ! If you can drill through the plasterboard into brick, and fit proper screws in plastic plugs, it should give you a secure fixing.

Of course, I agree. I meant if it was plasterboard covering solid wall, then use long fixings...

I have a 42" plasma mounted onto my 1/2" plasterboard.
I used toggle anchors which can be bought from B&Q. They state on the packaging that 2 bolts can support 265lbs (19 stone) on 1/2" drywall.
Anywho i've used 6 of these bolts to fix the plasma and its solid.
Was unsure at first but are perfect for this job.
