    thanks

    Hi,

To be honest, for that money you would be better looking for a 37".the choice at the lower size is so much greater.
I have only found a 42" LG 3000 series and a Samsung series 4 plasma at that size and around that price.
Really you need to lose 5ins or put on £100.
Try Googling 42" flat screen Tv and you'll see what I mean. Then try 37".

Stick with the big names, and given your requirements, don't worry about 100hz or even full HD.then check the reviews for the relative performance on Freeview and dvd's.

    Good luck

    KH
