Hi everyone I am looking to buy a Full HD 42" and have up to £700 to spend. I will only be using it for Sky HD and Blu-Ray, I do not have an Xbox 360 or PS3. Can anyone advise as I am looking for the best possible picture quality, not bothered about sound quality as I have a home cinema system.

    Thanks very much

Have a look at the Toshiba 42xv555 or 42rv555 - should be able to find, with a little shopping around, to be within your price range.

Both full HD and the latter has 100hz.

Thanks for that! Does anyone know of any bargains for the Philips Ambilight models as I really like the look of them but they are out of my price range!

The Ambilight effect can be done with some lights from ikea have a look in the Home Cinema gallery section.

I would rather go for features than fancy lights.
