For a friend who just wants a bigger TV than her current 32" CRT. She was tempted by the usual budget Samsungs advertised in the tabloids but I told her you guys could sort her out with something a little more refined. Help her out? I've not been on these boards for a while as I'm still happy with my Kuro I got a few years back.

Samsung usually delivers the most bang for the buck though. A 40H5500 seems to be withing budget ...

Thanks. My friend has spotted this JVC 50" for £350. I think she's enamoured by the size but is there a better alternative for this size and price?

50" Panny here just over budget Panasonic TX-50A400B 50-inch Widescreen 1080p Full HD LED TV with Freeview (New for 2014) @ £419 Amazon good customer reviews. 42" LG here LG LB630V 42 Inch Full HD Smart LED TV with webOS @ £359 Argos. You can get a refurb 46" Samsung on Ebay for between £350-£400. Also this Samsung UE48H5030 48 Inch Full HD Freview HD LED TV @ £399 Argos. Hope this helps?
