Hi I'm after a bit of advice I'm after a gaming TV larger than 40" and I thought I had found my perfect match with the Sony KDL42W653ABU nut the fact that it only uses it's built in wall mount has shattered my dreams. lol. What do you recommend I get in it's place?

How do you mean a built in wall mount out of interest?

The Sonys are the best gaming TVs this year

Try to find an end of line 42ST50 or GT50 plasma maybe?

Apparently there are no holes for a VESA mount on this set and the TV stand doubles as a Wall mount which can only mount on a flat surface. My room is crippled by having 2 doors a large window and a fire place, one being on all four walls , so I need a corner wall mount which the sony cant do sadly as obviously its the best gaming set at that budget.

Have you looked into the samsung F5000 range the 32" model got a good rating on *, perhaps the 42 is also good although i suspect the panel won't be one of samsungs at that panel size probably AUO, not sure. Buy from amazon and return if you hate it? I presume it has vesa mounts.

46" F5000 version also within the budget if you prefer the larger size. I think its the best bet for gaming if ruling out the W6. Might even be better, I have yet to see a good comparison of the two.

I have a plasma installed above fire place tilted slightly down and it works perfectly, perhaps it would suit your room also.

That is a good price for the 46" and i bet at that size it would hopefully have a samsung panel as well.
