40-42" Purchase for a friend advice please

Hi

A friend of mine is needing a new TV due to digital switchover in Sept in her area. She wants something in the 40 to 42 size and as she will be dealing with a local shop (yes I have told her it's cheaper on the internet!!) we are looking at either Samsung, LG and if we must Toshiba.
Price range is £400 - £600, we are after good PQ, LCD or LED, (could not even go down the line of explaining screenburn with plasmas).
Any ideas would be very helpful as I am afraid I tend to look at the more expensive models so this is a bit out of my area.

LG 42LS5600 seems reasonable for that sort of money
