Hi, let's see if these questions can be answered:

    1. I've seen several 32" tvs in a store side by side and 6006 was, with great difference, the one with a grainier image (with tuner). Is it soo grainy, or maybe that tv wasn't properly connected?

    2. Does it have s-video side connector, or you can only plug s-video sources through the rear scarts?

    3. Can RGB scart be used as s-video scart? (I'm preparing for the worst, i.e. dvd rgb problems)

And, lastly, do you think it is a good election for £500?

Well, thanks a lot and best regards from the Mediterrean,
    mandingo

hi mandingo, in answer to your questions,

    1. The picture on my 6006 is not grainy, if it were, it can be fine tuned and the sharpness setting can be lowered (as this tends to introduce grain the higher you set it).

    2. The side socket does not have an s-video input, but one of the scarts is s-video compatible.

    3. The RGB scart is RGB/composite only I'm afraid.

I bought mine for £502 inc. delivery excluding stand and am extremely happy with it :) .

    hope this helps

    Thanks, you indeed helped me!
So, the rgb problem can be fixed with that cl setting?
    I think I have finally made a decision ;)

    Thanks again and regards,

I suggested trying the cl setting to another forum member and it has apparently worked for his RGB problem. The RGB picture on mine wasn't dark at all, but at least we know it can be altered ;)

    regards

    Ok, thanks!
BTW, is it easy to access to cl setting or is it hidden?

    Regards

The only way you can get to the cl is via the service menu which can only be accessed by tapping in a code on the remote.

Do a search on the 6006 service menu, (by John Jennings), and any info you may need should be there.

One more thing about the 6006. I have a 28PW6006 and would strongly advise you to read through John Jennings thead in full before you play with the service menu as it is not the most. Both John and I managed to mess up our sets for a while (but both are fine now...)

Here are two links that might be useful:

    John Jennings' thread

    and another link...

The service menu is quite easy to use once you've got used to it. Good luck!

I am very pleased with my TV and would recomend one to you...

Wow, NOW I start to understand it. Well, my tv won't arrive until 1 or 2 weeks, so I'll study all this information before it arrives.

Thank you, mates, I appreciate your help
