Which is better for a 17" lcd?

Well, i had to make this decision earlier.

I had a budget of around £300 and wanted a tv for my fairly small bedroom for sky, xbox etc.

I found a Logik 17" 4:3 in currys with nicam, all main scarts etc and decided to get it.

I also had the option of a Mikoni (sp?) 17" 16:9 in Argos for the same price but i dont know if it had nicam etc and also if it broke then its better to be with a retailer like Currys who can repair quickly.

So anyway, i was standing looking at the #Logik set and compared it in size to a 17" lcd 16:9 and it seemed a better size. The 16:9 lcd's look a bit silly i think if they are small?

Anyway, thats my decison and basically do you guys think its an ok one?

    PS - I have a 32" Panasonic 100hz downstairs so i can use that for dvd's etc!

Would you buy a 4:3 set for your lounge?

If you wouldn't do it to your lounge, why do it to the bedroom?

And then you've got those rather large 'black bars' as lots of TV is now broadcast in 14:9.
(I think 4:3 sets look like nasty PC monitors, and so if its a 16:9
then its gotta be a telly!)

Lets not forget that many 4:3 LCD's are simply PC monitors with a tuner stuck in the back! At least with the 16:9 you know it was designed to be a telly!
If size is an issue, look for one that has the speakers set underneath, rather than at the sides!
Phillips do a fantastic 17" 16:9 and the prices really are tumbling, before you hand over your cash to the evils of dixons/currys/comet try www.unbeatable.co.uk

Merry Xmas, and happy shopping. :)

"its better to be with a retailer like Currys !!!"

    Discuss?

There may be some forum members who would disagree?

Lets remember, the currys/dixons group made more profit the year before last by selling extended warranties, than it did for actually selling products!

    Merry Xmas
