Thought it was time to give this one its own thread.

Just played the demo & thought it was pretty good, graphics seem polished & playability seems about right, fairly simple to play but it is crazy golf after all:)

Will probably make a full purchase later as it seems good value at 800 points, especially when you consider the course editor which from the sounds of things you can share your creations online.

Just want to make sure a few others on my friends list are buying first though as I'd be buying this mainly for online play rather than single player, think 4 players over Live should be good fun.

I would have bought this straight after playing the demo under normal circumstances but I have 4360 points in my account & I really can't afford more points for some time after those. It seems that suddenly XBLA is bursting out its potential & there are plenty imminent releases I'm going to want to purchase including:

    Settlers of Catan
    Carcassonne
Mad Tracks(although I haven't heard any updates on this one in ages)
    Super Puzzle Fighter II
    Track & Field

....and that's just a few that pop into my head:)

I wish Microsoft could not only give us ETA for these games but also let us know the prices as soon as they're decided(which I'm sure is long before they're released), would certianly make planning point budgets easier. Also I just noticed that my points aren't at a nice even figure so will almost certainly end with a useless 360 points sitting in my account....grrrrrr! Why did I buy those gamerpics:rolleyes:

Almost feels a shame not to purchase Ultra Golf as it's clearly a great game & deserves the recognition I feel. Love to see original titles like this show up on Arcade. I just hope there are enough people playing it online for it to truly shine.

I have bought this and it's a lot of fun - wife will love it as well

They have messed up with the autosave though - as the game saves after each hole has been completed, if you mess up a hole you can quit out of the game and try the hole again, this explains why we are seeing 51 under

Still lots of multiplayer fun

    cheers

    Jim

Go on Tetlee - you know it makes sense. I think it is a great addition to XBLA, and I am really looking forward to playing some on-line games, so if you get it, we can all arrange a game.

I know what you mean about the points though - MS have had some serious money out of me lately, just a good job that it is a bit quiet on the PSN front at the moment !!!

Does anyone have a list of the achievements? All of the usual achievement sites are blocked here at work.

Yeah, will probably cave in and purchase later on, as mentioned the course editor should add to the life of the game no end!

On that subject, has anyone looked at the course editor yet to see how much potential it has, I imagine it could be great as long as it isn't too restrictive.

The third hole in the demo(the space one) reminds me of Mario Galaxy:D

Theres a square grid with about 12ish maybe more blocks, you select which peice you want to put into the block and keep going till your happy. Theres straights and curlys you can add power ups and so on, it looks like theres plenty there to do. I have enjoyed my little time on it this afternoon and am looking forward to some online games.:)

Had a go before and this seems great fun. Finally something that's overtaken the golf game in Super Monkey Ball Deluxe as my favourite crazy golf game! The editor is very nice as well, a great little touch.

you can play up to four player locally. You need a pad each though which is a little stupid.

Downloaded and played last night after coming home from the pub. I was a little bit drunk TBH and I played a few rounds. Thought it was pretty good. How do you open up the explorer tournament (or is it open from the word go). I was pretty rubbish at it due to my drunkness hence why I could not open it up probably.

To unlock explorer you have to beat the CPU players on the traveler course I think, that's what worked for me

Yeah exactly right. I was gutted. I thought we started so well and put some decent passes and moves together. Then it all went a bit wrong. Typical WHU. Oh well, I reckon we're down now. There was a glimmer of hope but I think thats gone now.

What team in the Prem would get the support we do given our form this year ie every game sold out, decent atmosphere etc? Not many I would say.

I think the main issue has been down to loosing Gabidon, I really think he was the man holding the defence together and since he has gone we have had a terrible time at the back.
Our fans have been amazing, we don't deserve the drop (it was hard enough last time).

Anyway back on topic. The achievements are not too hard to get. Anyone have a fav course yet or a course they hate? For me i think the best course is Barrel Blast. The worst is the planet one as its a real pain to get the power enough to get anywhere without floating off into space!

Downloaded this last night, how can something so simple be so frustrating as well.
Will be playing this a lot with the help of some cider to take the edge off my frustrations.

Truth be told I don't get to play too much (hence my low gamer score! ;) ). I'll add you on my friend's list though as it would be good to have a session at some point (that's if you don't mind of course!) :)
