Hi,
So I haven't bought a new tv in ages, but my old sony kld-40v4000 lcd could do with being upgraded.
Obviously I am considering the panny ST30 but also the Samsung ue40d6100 as there is one for sale on the forums here
I like the idea of the panny as I know it gets great reviews on here and I can probably get a decent deal on it with some glasses etc (the samsung doesn't come with any)
I'm a bit lost as to which would meet my needs the best and have read a load of threads on here and am none the wiser!
I'm not worried about smart features as I have a HTPC, although I will want to play 3D moves from my USB stick
The main uses in order will be:
2D TV from Sky
FPS shooters on xbox 360 (Literally only play COD & BF3)
2D signal from HTPC
As I understand it, the biggest problem with the panny is going to be image retention, which as it will be used with the HTPC & also the static HUD on fps shooters could cause me an issue?
Or should I go for something totally different / bigger etc?
Any advice / knowledge greatly received!
