Well its out and free to download for the basic package. If you want to tweak anything you have to pay for the pro versions.

    I tested my PC.

    P4 2.8ghz @ 3.0ghz, 2ghz ram, Nvidia 6800GT OC (256mb)

    I got a score of : 2857

    Is that good or bad???

While the test was runing i watched a pretty nice slideshow!!!! i was getting frame rates as low as 1

Post your scores if u like!

I did my first bench with it and got around 4500 marks. It was a slide show through most of the cpu tests on my A64 3500+ rig  Looks very nice though but it'll be a while before we start seeing some reasonable scores :)

 I down loaded it and found you had to have Direct X9c, wondering if this will run OK with a GeForce 3 card?

Thanks for the links to download it guys. :smashin:

    4268 3d marks, with a 6800GT , 1GB ram, P4 2.8Ghz. I think that's a respectable score...

This is weird, I got a slightly better rig than zAndy1 and my score is half of his.

    Something is not right here!

 Got some frame rates of 'zero' during some of the tests! :rotfl:

    Scored a paltry 2048 with a 2GHz P4, 512MB RAM, Radeon 9800Pro (128MB).

I been hearing that the current version of '05 is hacked or something.

ALL results are fake or incorrect!!

Better leave it for a while till they sort it out!

    A64 3000 @ 2.2GHz, 1GB PC3200, eVGA 6800GT no OC yet.

Upgrade to the newest Nvidia drivers, should give you about a 800 boost, ATI did the same "tweaking". It may be detrimental for your games though.....

    AML, def too low.
    Recruit, sounds about right.

well i must admit, running it on my work pc, its the first time i've seen a pc running with seconds per frame instead of frames per second!

i havent installed it on my home pc (xp2800/1024mb/fx5900xt) cos i think it'll be depressing to watch!

ATI lovers should get the beta 4.10 drivers which are optimised for 3DM05 and show a marked improvement in the benchmark score.

Yes, you are limited by your graphics card at the moment.

A 6800 vanilla is about 50% better than a 9800 XT, depending on the benchmarks, a GT is about double. The 6600 GT when it finally arrives on AGP is looking very good as a value card, near 6800 vanilla performance for 1/3 less cost. If you want to risk it you could also go for a X800 Pro and mod it to Platium.

Having said all that if you aren't desperate to play the latest games with lots of eye candy on the 9700 Pro is still a damn good card.

I have always bought ATI cards in the past but i must say the specs and performance ratings on the new 6800 range are very impressive.
Thanks Daneel i might try and grab one

BTW: I ran 3dmark again and turned out 1915 100 points higher

lol thought my PC was good until i saw framerates 4-6 lol looks good though well sort of..

Mine is a P4 3.2, 2 gig ram and Geforce 5900 Ultra.. maybe time to upgrade graphics..?

But then again no games arun slow.. Doom 3 runs highest details with no slowdown at all and looks better than the 3dmark demo (1st one) so maybe some bug?

As anyone got over 10 FPS?

I get 5955 you can compare it here http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm05=113045 thats with my graphics card at stock. With my old 9800XT i got around 2970.

The first few test i get around 22-36fps then on the second batch it goes down to arouns 4-12fps.

To be honest there isnt much in it between the X800XTPE or the 6800 Ultra they both are very good cards. The 6800 supports pixel shader 3 which the X800 doesnt but i obviously prefer the X800 which is why I bought one it handles high resolutions with AA and AF slightly better than the 6800ultra.
To give you an idea of the speed increase i gained from my old 9800xt in Doom 3. The 9800xt would benchmark at high 1280x1024 on high settings at about 29fps with no AA/Af and it was unplayable if you set the game to ultra and even turned all the graphics niceness off. The X800XTPE runs at max fps(capped at 69fps in Doom 3) with everything on (except AA/AF) even on Ultra. With AA/AF on and everything maxed in Ultra it still gives me 49fps.

Im more than happy with the card and would recommend it to anyone if they have the cash for it. For slightly less money though nothing ATI have (in the price bracket) can beat the 6800GT, I think you can pick them up for under £230.

Thanks Dandle i think i may lean towards the ATI then as i have always had them and i must say when playing DOOMIII i am getting quite a bit of slowdown which is annoying.
