Question 3D Glasses and washed out colours

Novice Member
Hi guys, again, a bit new to this.

Just installed a BenqW1070 in my living room and watching a few 3D movies via the New Apple TV and Plex. Have to comment though that when in 3D, the images looks a lot less saturated and a bit 'washed out' Is this just the way it is for 3D or could it be the glasses? I had two pairs to try off amazon, one was less than a tenner and the other pair were £22 and to be honest theres nothing between them. Is there good and bad 3D glasses as I could get one decent pair if I thought it would help. I also wondered if maybe I ought to be going to a 3D Blu ray to get the best? Any Thoughts?
