    Hi
I want to watch sky on my projector using the component sockets on the pj, would i be right in thinking that the 3805 can up convert this? my problem is that my skybox only has scart sockets and no component sockets, could anyone out there please tell me what i need to get sky through the 3805 then up to the pj.?
I have :rtfm: but its hard work.

That's one option, but you certainly don't NEED a converter. Worth trying S-Video from Sky+ box into receiver, and then component out to the PJ.

Thing is my skybox has scart only no svid or component, yes i thought about getting a rgb to component converter, but then i remember reading that the 3805 can upconvert, its just trying to find the right conector for the skybox to 3805, from there its no problem i have component cable ready to feed the pj from the receiver. is there such a thing as a scart to svideo lead? or scart to component leads?

You can get various leads but the problem is your Sky Box is only outputting RGB. The 3805 can't convert an RGB signal even if you could get one into it. You could use the Sky Box's PAL (composite) output but that's crap quality to start with. Maybe it would be easier to get a Sky+ box and do as HeweyBoy101 suggests.

I've ended up using a scart to phono for the meanwhile as sky plus to to expensive for existing customers. and to be honest the picture quality is not that bad.

Surely you can just ask the SKY picture menu to ouput a PAL picture and send a signal from a scart to composite phono into the Amp and then allow it to simply upconvert the signal to component?

    Cap :)
