Are these specs correct? 15:9? is this an old panel?

Toshiba 37" WXGA LCD Widescreen Television
    Resolution – WXGA 1280 x 720
    Active Vision LCD Picture Processing
    Real Digital Picture Processing
    Brightness – 500cd/m2
    Contrast – 600:1
Viewing Angle – 170 degrees (Vertical & Horizontally)
    HDMI x 1
    SCART x 2
    Composite x 1
Audio Output – SRS WOW 20W
    Cabinet Stand Supplied

I suspect the price is correct, the new Samsung 40" is advertised @ £1699, trouble is everything seems to be on pre-order, where's the stock?

Where does it say it's a 15:9 panel? Do the maths, 1280x720 is a native 16:9 ratio.

It seems TVandVideoDirect are currently offering this item at £1425. It sounds like a good price! I checked Toshiba UK site. The resolution is officially stated as 1366x768. But, no PiP!!

Can someone suggest a similar spec. 37" LCD TV with PiP? I know Philips 37PF9986 @ £2235 is a full Dual Screen but the price differential id £810. Is it worth the extra? I would like to hear from any one.

Exactly, 1280x720 is true 720p no scaling etc, think you are mistaken with 1280x768 that makes it a 15:9 panel.

The price has gone up, but it still appears to be the best deal out there for this screen.

However, stock might be a different issue!

I convinced a friend to plump for one from BE-Direct, but they're now quoting 2-3 weeks for delivery (even though there was no such suggestion at the point of order.)

    Hi Snoods,

1499 at Currys & Dixons. Is it Toshiba 37WL56 or something else? Any ideas on the 37" LCD PiP? Philips 37PF9986 is rather expensive at 2235!
