    Hi!

I'm new here - both on the forum and as a 9986 owner :)
Here's the problem - I have loads of sources and an AV amp, and no idea what the best way to hook it all up to the 9986 is..
    I have the following devices:

Sky+ (vsn2) - this has RGB scart out (and RGB pass through?)
NAD t762 DVD player - component and RGB Scart out
JVC DR-M10 DVD Recorder - Component and RGB Scart out, unsure if it does RGB pass through.
Motorola DVI-15000 Digital Cable Box - RGB Scart out and RGB pass through i think..
and finally a NAD t752 AV Amp which has two component inputs, and one output, as well as composite and S-Video out...

Ideally i'd like to use the Amp for source switching as much as possible, i also don't require audio out from the 9986.

    Any help will be appreciated!!

    Jings!

    OK.

    Sky+ into Ext1 (TV) - RGB Scart.
NAD DVD into NAD Amp - Component.
JVC Recorder into NAD Amp - Component.
Motorola into Ext2 (TV) - RGB Scart.
NAD Component out into Component in on TV. (Component/VGA/DVI adapter)
Phono out on TV into Phono in on NAD amp.
Optical Digital out from the Sky+ to the NAD Amp.

However. The component input to the TV must be Progressive Scan or it won't work. So check this. The phono out to the amp is to help with Lip Synch. Optical Digital out from the Sky+ provides 5:1 sound from Sky Movies to the Amp.

The Amp will switch between the two DVD sources.

Let us know if Progressive Scan isn't available....

Thanks for the feedback, I'll give it a go at the weekend (need to get some decent component cables first!).

After some adjustment to the settings on the TV both the Sky+ and Motorola are both providing good PQ via RGB, and the NAD DVD has surpassed every expectation via component - i didn't believe such vivid quality was possible for us mere mortals :)

Overall i'm very happy with my 9986 - full marks
