37pf9986 and Xbox

Hi

Has anyone with a 9986 connected their Xbox to it with the hi-def pack through the component-VGA-DVI connection? Did it work?!? I am just getting the message "Picture format not available". I am waiting for delivery of prog-scan DVD player which will give me a test to see whether the the TV is accepting a component signal. I have Firmware 2.1.

have you a pal or ntsc xbox? only the us xbox has progressiv (9986 needs it... sharp doesn't)

I have US NTSC Xbox and really don't understand why my 9986 will not accept the signal.

Have you turned on the 480p mode after attaching the hi-def av pack?

Here's what you need to do, if I remember correctly.

1. Connect the green component cable to COMPOSITE input of your tv
2. Boot up the xbox without any games in the tray
3. Go to Settings->Video and enable 480p mode
4. Connect all component cables to your tv
5. Restart the xbox with a game disc in

Optionally, you may also want to download the 480p dashboard through Xbox live (you don't need a Live account) so that you can see it in future without connecting via composite. You just need to connect to Xbox live and it will automatically be updated. Then just press BOTH triggers, and BOTH thumbstick buttons simultaneously to switch to the 480p dashboard.
