    Hiya,

It seems from what I've seen and read, that the 32XD1E stands proudly asside my rants about poor SD Freeview quality, and aparently boons in other areas too. As such it is my narrowed down last consideration before opting for a plasma, as it's attractive 1080p screen at a good price point makes it a worthy consideration.

If I could ask a few questions though...

    1. Ok, let's get it out of the way, SD Freeview - what's it really like for you guys?

    2. Inherant problems - as 37" owners, have you had the banding/backlight unevenness or buzzing?

    3. Movement - smearing issues?

    4. 1080 1:1 Pixel mapping for console use via HDMI (or any other equipment) - How does it fair.

Thanks very much for your time, I know NaimFC posted some great shots, but as I mentioned I found him on another forum just weeks after showing pictures of his new plasma in his room where his supposedly fab xd1e was - I find that a bit worrying lol, plus he almost sold me on the xd1e from his SD findings alone! Traitorous Urchin! lol (j/k)

    Cheers.

SD - I view all my SD content via my sky digital box, I haven't used the internal freeview tunner much because I've got a tiny aerial which I use for my PC's TV card...it doesn't pick up that many channels on the TV.

This TV handles SD better than most HD TV's I've seen so far, some channels look great, other's don't. It really depends on the broadcast signal.

No banding or buzzing, my only issue is the viewing angle. It's fine if you're viewing it head-on but it's defenitley not 176°

    No smearing issues.

1:1 pixel mapping works just fine, clear text - make sure that sharpness is turned all the way down (-10).

    Oh dear, snigger. lol

Yeah I saw that review of the 42", funny thing is in that photo there is actually a detail reveal when you view off-axis, but that's LCD for you I suppose.

In comparison to the 42" review, is your 37" in the same boat angle wise then?

Any photo's including SD material you may have I would love to see. I really do want to be snatched away from plasma if I can - but the decision has to be made in less than a week.

    They're pretty good thanks.

Does this set do 24fps 1080p by any chance? (thinking about bluray)

    Thanks again.

I have no idea, blue-ray playback via my PS3 is flawless, no juddering at all.
