Should my PV500 be listed on my HTPC as default monitor or can I download a driver for windows XP for it and if so where?

You won't be able to download a monitor driver for the PV500, but you might want to create one using powerstrip. But the only thing this will give you is the ability to configure different resolutions, which perhaps the default monitor doesn't normally support, and perhaps also specify some preferred colour temperature settings (although exactly what these settings should be is unclear). If the default monitor works for your desired resolution, there probably isn't much benefit in creating one.
