    Hi All

Basically im trying to sort my little sister out with a new plasma, she has decided that 42" is too big for what she needs (we were originally looking at the 42" Panny PX70).

Can anyone suggest a decent tv in this category?

She watches mainly standard tv stuff (sd material) & dvds but i wanted to get something that she can use HD on in the future.

Budget wise about £800.00 but as cheap as possible but must be good quality, oh and a table top stand.

Perhaps the 37" px70 would be the best choice?

Please give me any opinions, it is family so i dont want to get her a duff tv & never hear the end of it :suicide:

Could do with purchasing from john lewis (pricematch ) to get the 5 year warranty also.

    Thanks in advance :smashin:

if you go plasma there is only one choice at the moment, the panny th37PX70 (or 700) you should find lots of info on them in this forum if you do a quick search....

just to clarify I mean this is the only 37" plasma

This is the only choice at 37" at the moment but panasonic is bringing out a 37", dare I say, LCD soon.

Sorry i thought everyone did a 37" :suicide:

So the next size down would be a 32"?? i think that would be too small for her.

The minimum size plasma is 37", and then you'll be restricted to the one Panasonic model. If I were you I would talk her into a 42", then a whole new world of choice opens up...

is it the screen size or the overall size thats the issue as 37" screen is only slightly smaller than 42" screen as dimensions are diaganol for screen size but at 37" Panasonic is the only option for plasma none smaller (there was once a 32" made by Hitachi, long ago discontinued)

Yes its the overall size (i.e. the surround) the 42" px70 would look a bit much for her smallish room so i figured the 37" would suit her best.

Women !! id have just gone for the 42" and got rid of some furniture :D

In that case...what about the Panasonic 42PH10 range? You won't get much of a more minimal surround than them...
