Depends on your outlook , and how fussy one can be on image quailty. I prefer LCD`s in general, however the latest Plasma displays are impressive as is their lifespan. I spent ages pondering and after getting several headaches went for a Hyundai 32" LCD. I found the larger displays 37" and above to big for my needs , however for a larger display i think i would go plasma, bearing in mind its resolution and its connectivity.

Thanks, thats useful to know, the 2 Panasonics ive mentioned might be worth a look.Currys seem to be doing a decent online deal on the th37px60 but im struggling to find out if its an older model and if its any good. From the reviews ive read Panasonic plasmas as a whole seem well rated but i dont know about this one???

Im getting my 37PX60 this friday, cant wait, fantastic screen, handles both SD and HD very well, SD sources on plasma are way better than any LCD out there, no burn or retention on this set. LCDs are good aswell no disrespect to them, but I tended out for the plasma over a LCD due to it being able to handle motion etc better and SD sources being better on them.

The currys price on it is great! But I truely do recommend you getting a decent offline retailer and Price matching it with John Lewis as you get the 5 years free guarantee, on its own that will cost you about £500. You wont be disapointed with the set.

I have the 37PX60 and it is fantastic.
It trounced the 37" LCDs in a What Hi-Fi super test in the last issue.

Nope I got mine via the 20% discount code they had few days ago, got it for £1196 which is cheaper than the Empire Direct. Just a few quid more than the price of PRC, but a great price as it includes the free 5 year warranty.

Whoever your price match with the TV will come at a great price, just think of it as you saving £500 on the 5 year warranty. Same as with any plasma/lcd you buy.

And yes the stand does come with the TV as it is the CAB version. You can price match with PRC or ED or one of the other many offline retailers.

PRC Direct and Empire Direct are both offline and online retailers.

Yes the PX60 is the newer model, however the PX600 is a newer version, but it uses the same screen as the PX60 has better stlying, PIP (Picture in Picture, which allows you to watch i.e Sky and on the other side say Xbox360), and better sound.

The promotion code is over now, so that cant be off use. TO get the PX60 you'll need to Price Match with John Lewis, this can be done by phoning up a branch, quoting where you've found a cheaper price, as long as the non JL retailer has the item on display and in stock JL should price match it.

As for pics, you'll find some in the Plasma forum, but here are some images of the PX60.

The PV500 is the older model to the PX600.

I've had my TH37PX60 for 6 weeks now and it's excellent.

I compared the picture quality against a Pani 32" LCD. Both showing the same show via the IDTV freeview tuner in John Lewis Cheadle and the Plasma was superior (in my opinion).

It looks great on any signal (sat 9 feet from screen). No problems with screen burn (although I did run it in for the 200 hours).

Managed to price match against Empire Direct (however not sure if they currently have any in stock).

Only minor gripe is the fan noise which is noticeable when the volume is low. Other than that 9/10 from me.
